Yet another what company car!?

Been sent my company car list to choose from, I have narrowed it down to a few but wanted to know if any one had any experience and what they found.

Narrowed it down to the following:

VW Passat estate 1.6 tdi
Toyota Avensis tourer 2.0 D-4D T2
Ford Mondeo Estate 2.0 TDCI 140 Zetec
Ford Focus Estate 2.0 TDCI 140 Zetec (or Titanium)

Also just a bit of a curve ball

Lexus CT Hatchback 200h S (Petrol/Hybrid)

My Dad had a Mondeo in that spec but a saloon when it first came out, good car. Focus should be too, but in my opinion the Mondeo's a better looking car. Probably worth going for a 2.0 rather than a 1.6 as well.

I have use of a Passat with a 2.0tdi and have an Audi A1 with the 1.6tdi. I think the 1.6 tdi will feel pretty inadequate in a Passat.

Lexus for me, surely there are some financial benefits to be had from it being a hybrid too.

Even if there aren't screw it go for the Lexus anyway :-)

I would get the focus in titanium spec myself lot of kit for that money and the facelift comes out soon

Dad has the 1.6 tdci hatch of the mk3 done 72k miles in 2 years and has been faultless I have done about 4k of them and must say it a very good all rounder

What kind of mileage do you do?

The hybrid drivetrain is not suited to motorways (noisy and lack of torque) so unless you are doing low mileage in town the tax savings will be wiped out by high fuel consumption at higher speeds.

My previous boss had one just beacuse it would save him on tax but it drove him mad doing any long journeys and his mpg was worse than those driving diesels.

I'd go with either of the Fords.

how many miles are you doing and how important is the drive? Do you just want an A to B car or something with a hint of excitement?

Lexus CT is a very good for tax but is a bit of a hard ride.

I know it's not on the list you've given but Golf GTD is very good (but with a very long lead time).

Sorry, yes forgetting information here .

Will be doing between 20 and 25k per year. No fuel card just claim back miles on a monthly basis and pay personal miles. No kids but dog, gf and weekends out with surf board or bike is why I was thinking of the estates.

I have found a passat in a 2ltr form thart is within budget today and have to admit I did like that.
