Sounds stupid.. Tips for checking oil on NC...

What is the "knack" for checking the oil on the NC?

I've been trying to track whether it has been using abit of oil but the bloody dipstick is a pain.

Apart from parking it on a flat surface and leaving it overnight. Do i read it holding it vertically or horizontally?

Never had so much trouble reading a fking dipstick!

I check mine in the morning or after work, easier to read as oil is cold.

Mine is also a complete pain. Despite only checking when engine is cold and on a flat level I still can't get an obvious reading from it.
