Hello all,

2014 will be my first year at Le Mans and from various reading it seems there is a fine art to getting the most out of the event.

I was hoping people might be able to share any general advice or experiences, particularly relating to the Classic, that we may find useful?

Where to go, what to do at certain times, etc. etc.

All I know for sure is not to do any speeding on the motorways in France!

Also trying to find a good outlet for potential livery, i've found stickers4.com but it'd be nice to have some stuff aimed at the 'classic'.

Thanks

Stuff aimed at the classic doesn't exist wink Leave it for the main event in my opinion.

I would personally avoid motorways, firstly they're littered with feds but also the A roads in France are awesome and you don't need to be properly honing to enjoy the run.

Times, there is plenty of info out there, but I enjoy Friday practice and in the past have enjoyed watching all the track lap cars on Saturday morning. Make sure you get out to Arnage at night, seeing the fast groups in the dark with flames spitting is always good.

Otherwise enjoy!

I've found a mean looking set of Martini stripes. Even if it's the classic, i'm still doing a full livery!

Thanks for the tips on Arnage, that's exactly the sort of advice i'm after.

Is there a schedule of events somewhere?

The website is... erm.... slightly underdeveloped.

So for instance what happens on saturday morning?

On track, Saturday morning will be all the classic/sports cars doing their track laps, good to watch some of the antics. The is of course some pace car action too. There are all the trade stands and cars to look around as well as all the paddocks.

Don't forget the PH meet on the Friday at Le Bounty.
Please add your names to the list.
