I love Le Mans but wished more manufactures would get involved in the lower classes. Its Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and Corvette again.

What would you like to see added?

GT3 has better variety, I sometimes think it would be better if GT3 replaced GTE.

I think any manufacturer who makes £60k+ sportscars could compete. I understand that the current group of cars are the best a team could run with an equal chance of winning but it would be nice to see Lotus, BMW, Mercedes or imagine a Noble mixing it up with 458s.

Last year Martin Whitmarsh (remember him ?) announced that as long as the future planned merging of rules between GTE & GT3 took place, that McLaren would be at Le Mans in 2016 with the MP4-12C. Now, due to management changes, who knows if that is still McLarens plan.

Nothing much will change until 2016 when the new regs should come in for FIA GT racing. Lexus are a strong possibility (with Toyota doing a Porsche?) and others as well, so it's a very bright future for GT racing in general. They just need to get the base regs and any grandfathering right.

GT3 doesn't really have any regs - it's just a BoP mess, or as I call it Handicapping.

I think they have thought about a GT+ and a GT class. But as already said, there are far more Manufacturers with GT3 cars, than GTE cars.

We kind of know what you mean but some of us remember a time when there were only Porsche... All that's missing at the moment is the odd eccentric entrant wanting to run some bizarre car such as Morgan or TVR or even a TR7 which has happened in the past. With the prototype entry running so high, there are only so many places on the grid.

They'll be more slots next year/2016 as they're building additional garage/s but I guess the real limit to the smaller manufacturers is the requirement for a full season entry to either WEC or ELMS to give yourself a certain invite (not entry) to Le Mans. That requires a hell of an investment which most smaller manufacturers can't entertain, one suspects.

Still, can't be all bad if the cause of ire is full grids rather than empty ones.

Talking of expense/investment - the organisers could always revert to production i.e. showroom cars - it was what the event was intended for in the first place. More variety/more interest for the man-in-the-street etc..And I mean stock, none of this GT1, GT2, GT3 GTtomdickandharry nonsense.

Just a thought.....

With or without the LMP cars as well? If we want to go back to true intentions, it'll be held over two years as well with the best aggregate of the two races.

Personally I think GT racing is extremely healthy and if the 2016 regs are good then it can only get better. Maybe the indicator that all is lost is when there is a GT race that AF Corse aren't entered in, it'll be like the ravens leaving the Tower of London.
