Sous Vide for £99?
Discussion
Amazon. Andrew James rebranded special. No frills but looks okay for the money.
Does anyone have one?

Not tried the Andrew James Sous Vide bath but I did go for:
http://anovaculinary.com/
which is an immersion circulator rather than heated bath. Arguably better but probably makes little difference at the home cook level. I preferred the design and easier to store.
Worked out about 160-170gbp delivered as its 199USD for the unit and about 65USD delivery from the US.
Can't fault it so far although my technique needs further refinement.

Looks like a good bit of kit. I need another bath but may go for one of these instead. Have you tried it on a large capacity pan, it says 22l max, be interested to know if i can really cope with that.http://anovaculinary.com/

Wow didn't know you could get them quite that cheap.
Just built myself one using a cheap slow cooker + arduino:

Tried it last night with a Rib Eye, came out really well. 1hr @ 54(ish)C

Some more tuning and refinements required to keep the temperature a bit more stable but pretty happy with it so far.

I've only used it a couple of times - really with whatever came to hand and probably no more than a 10litres so far.I've just bought a new 'bath' which is actually a 25litre plastic storage box from tesco's for 4gbp which I plan to test out at the weekend. I'm pretty confident it'll easily manage the 22l you quote - the impeller provides decent circulation and the water comes up to temperature pretty quickly.

Sounds promising. Our 40l is plumbed in to a hot water supply so no getting up to temp, if anything we chuck ice in to lower it.I've just bought a new 'bath' which is actually a 25litre plastic storage box from tesco's for 4gbp which I plan to test out at the weekend. Soudnds like a good toy for work and for home. The big kit can do the 40 duck legs and this could do home or stuff to order.

I think the only ones that would be happy if I cooked 40 duck legs would be my Labradors!Soudnds like a good toy for work and for home. The big kit can do the 40 duck legs and this could do home or stuff to order.
