Front Seats & Steering Wheel.
Discussion
My Sandero is fitted with Cobra Bucket Seats & an ickle sports steering wheel.
Trouble is I like my steering wheel a bit bigger. As the column is quite low a bigger wheel would hit my knees, but the column seems up against the scuttle as high as it will go.
I am looking at changing the seats anyway to something a bit more upright that will give access to the back.
Anyone had similar problems when choosing seats & got any ideas???

This is a common problem usually when "sports" type seats are fitted.
Often the seat is on quite a high sub frame and is built up.
A standard car seat tends to be flatter and can allow a bit more room between the steering wheel and the drivers legs.
Is your Jago Mk1 or Mk2 Escort based?
The Mk1 based ones had a sort of shelf due to the way the windscreen is mounted to the main tub (the screen frame is mounted on top of the tub which I often call the saddle method).
The later ones that mainly used Mk2 gear had the screen mounted on the rear of the tub scuttle which did away with the shelf and created a "wall" instead.
The Mk1 column also usually has a deeper mounting bracket welded on to it than the Mk2 unit.

Same problem here
I'm 6 foot and have a severe spinal injury so I am well aware of the pitfalls of jagos and seats, to add to my woes the previous owner added a cross member to the roll cage to which the 4 point harness is attached (demanded by the off-road club he belonged to!)
I have fitted huntmaster buckets with no rails, the rear base mounting sitting on the "shelf" and the front supported by sheet steel brackets extended from the rear "shelf" and fixed to the floor. giving me just enough room to slide into the seat, get comforable and achieve a very comfortable driving position.
I have high backed clubman seats waiting to be fitted (the dog having destroyed the woven huntmasters) which will fit in the same way.
For you wanting to access the rear, look for Metro seats, these will bolt in using the rails fitted and you can modify the back stops to get an extra 4" or 5" of legroom. Alternatively try and get your hands on some old triumph herald seats, low back and very thin seat squib, as fitted to heralds the seat hinges from the front, remove the hinged rails and you have two mounting brackets at the front, drill the seat frame at the rear and you have mounting points for rear brackets. The are a few sets of herald seats going very cheap on ebay - classic cars parts triumph
