I've recently purchased a Denon RCD-M39, a Project Debut Carbon turntable and Dali Zensor speakers. So far so good, the sound quality from the DAB radio and CD player is excellent, however the sound from the turntable is, well, muted. It has to be at full volume to hear it on the other side of the room.
Any ideas as to the problem and the solution? A friend mentioned a pre-amp, would this help? If so how and any recommendations of type?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you need a Phono Pre-Amp.
The output of the cartridge on your turntable is very small so it needs to be boosted before your main amp can deal with it.
This would get you going http://www.richersounds.com/product/turntable-acce... but that Project is a nice little turntable and probably deserving of something better like this http://www.richersounds.com/product/turntable-acce...
