I've had the car for just over a week. Guess what? Someone hits it while parked at work!

It's only a minor ding at the front, nothing major. Anyone recommend somewhere to have it repaired?

It's a TVR Tasmin

Kenny Laird in Newton near Cambuslang mate. He lives just around the corner from me and his work is flawless. He fixed a serious ding in my porsche boxster which was in a one-off colour and last year he resprayed a few bits on my corsa vxr - top quality work guaranteed.

Thanks, done some digging; Him and Touch ups seem to get good comments.

Bad luck frown

I'm looking to get some paint work done on the Elise soon so also interested in any recommendations.

Looking forward to seeing the Tasmin!

My car had a bit of a bump when it was in getting serviced, the garage ended up taking it to performance bodyshop in Airdrie to spray the rear bumper and rear wing. Took a couple of days longer than expected because they had trouble getting a good paint match but looking at it now you would never know it had been touched. Don't know how much it cost and never dealt with them directly but was happy with the results.

Got a few quotes, up to £700 at my local "east coast coach-works". Some others in-between.

I've decided to go with "touch ups". Given that I'm planning to get a full front end respray in august they're going to paint just the small area that is damaged. They showed me a Maserati which had a similar repair and I couldn't tell it'd been damaged.

£150 is what it's going to cost.

I'll report back, if the work is decent then I have more stuff for them to do. Full front end respray would be £800.

David who used to run my garage works for himself and does wonders with fibreglass. he has had lots of practice on one of my cars......

His workshop looks crap, but he does a really good job having being doing paint for 20 years. does lots of bike parts. possibly best giving him a call. he is near Birkenshaw trading estate in Uddingston 07939631191

Done quite a bit for guys on PH and most of my old bangers too!

My next door neighbour has a small ding on the back arch of his 14 plate toyota, no paint damage. Reversed my Zed into it frown

We're in Hamilton and said i'd get some advice on the best place to take it and obviously pay for it. Where's best?

If there's no paint damage you're better and much cheaper with a smart repair, I'd highly recommend Keith from KB Dents on 07789 226 321.

Just a wee update. The person who hit my car had called or e-mailed almost everywhere she'd been in scotland because she picked up a dent and only realised when she got back to Manchester.

Got a e-mail in the works account with her phone number. She was very apologetic for stealing some of my red paint. I'd already got some quotes so we agreed it's best she just pays for it in cash rather than go through insurance.

Got the money this morning through bank transfer, £250. More than enough to cover the cost of repair and a bit extra for "all my troubles"

At-least there's one honest person left in this world.
