After a 4 year absence from 7's, I'm returning to the fold and picking up my new toy tomorrow. Can't wait to pick it up and hoping for dry weather.
Decided to move on from my addiction to HPC's and have bought a 260bhp Minister Duratec built by Freestyle using a series 3 chassis and featuring their inboard pushrods suspension system.

)Picked up my new toy today and had a great drive back home. Wow, what a machine and for sure the most impressive 7 I've had, including the original JPE turbo nutter car.
Had great service from Callum and Andy at Sevens and Classics, who have been very accommodating. Only slight marr on an otherwise fab day is the rad has sprung a small leak but Callum has already confirmed this will be sorted.
Really looking forward to getting to know this car properly.

Hi, yes it was. Original JPE ordered by Hans Rausing who immediately decided that 250bhp wasn't enough for him and so spent a further £30k on it via Courtenay. It was the only JPE turbo and had 320bhp and a Quaiffe sequential box. Very, very quick.
I remember the car going sideways at 45 mph when I put my foot down.
Courtenay turboed another 7 but that was a mint green Vauxhall HPC with an M3 gearbox. It blew up in Spain about 10 years ago and the remains were at the back of Caterham's Dartford factory for quite a while.

What remains of the original car bearing in mind Chris at Courtenay said it cost well over £100k over 10 years ago is just The chassis which was converted back to RHD at Arch with a cert of newness 3.14 diff jpe saddle tank hubs brakes(drilled for traction control sensors) wide transmission tunnel to take the big box.

Hi sorry to hear about first day probs, I also own a freestyle 7 same engine as yours 2.3l but @ 215 bhp spec, Not sure if they used the same radiator in the 260 bhp but may give you something to go on.
I replaced my radiator last year like for like and found it here http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_prod... apparently they are quite prone to leaking, but I needed a quick fix as was going to Le mans the following week.
