Pete,

I'm with Mannings. £330 for a 450 with declared mods of stealth cam, fully decatted, uprated suspension and some induction mods.

Hope that helps give you a guide price as they were the cheapest I could find with the cover I wanted BUT my car is not garaged. It's kept on a private drive.

5k miles per year.

Good luck.

I got what i thought was a very good price going through 'car supermarket' leading me to 'Be wiser'

I had been out of the country for 13 years so had to start from fresh. I was getting all my quotes in the £600-650 range then almost giving up my hrs of searching tried the above and Bingo £350.01

It's on what they call a 10 month accelerator period so % off and renewal 10 months rather than 12. Other goodies thrown in,a gift voucher on your birthday to the sum of how old you are (48),courtesy car and RAC breakdown cover.

My car is garaged and currently living in a category 'B' postcode risk area and on a 6k pa mileage. Worked well for me as said I must of tried 10-12 other quotes all falling in at almost double their quote.

Just one question I have to others is how strict are insurance companies on the annual limited mileage you state? Only i am using my car a lot more than I intended( Just love driving it)and have a feeling I am going to run over the 6k I stated by maybe 1k rolleyes

It was certainly worth the 20 mins trying car supermarket,as for me it saved £300 (Just like the advert says)biggrin

Another Manning's customer here, been with them for 5 or 6 years and always been happy with the service, level of cover and premiums.
£307 on garaged Chim 500, 5k miles/year and all mods declared.

Hi

It might be worth trying LV I have just renewed with business use for £153 on a standard 2000 4.0 Chim . With a slightly increased excess but I can handle that. I do get extra discount as I have a 3 cars insured with them. An oldish 316 BMW an XK conv and the Chim all for around £500.

But I am getting on a bit but not quite bus pass age yet.

I went with A plan for my Chimaera insurance. Mannings weren't competitive as I'm new to TVRs and they explained their policies were aimed at those with more than a year of TVR driving experience.

My first TVR policy was with Mannings. (I'm still with them.) I also have an MGB V8 so maybe this counted as 'previous' although that's not what's stated above. £270 for a mid-fifties owner in 2012

perhaps it's a new thing with them, or maybe as you say a V8 MGB is sufficient proof you are able to handle this kind of car. I'm sure they would have quoted but probably wanted to save themselves and me the wasted time if they knew they wouldn't be competitive.
