golf mk5 gti or audi a4 dtm?

what car would you have and why? Which car is more reliable? Any known problems with golf? Heard the audi is unreliable, is that true?

Mk5 golf gti.

Had one for a while, excellent car, fun, reliable, practical, rides well.

Agree with the above, I recently got a MK5 GTI and it's an excellent all rounder. Can't fault it really and it quickly becomes clear why so many owners hang onto them for a long time. I haven't tried the A4 DTM but I know from been inside other A4s it's definitely less practical particularly in the rear and the interior/ dashboard feels dated.

As above, currently have a GTI! Absolutely love it superb all rounder. The DTM I have to say always interested me though, is that the 1.8T engine? Guess you need to decide if you need a saloon or a hatchback.

Bought a Golf GTi a year ago and am happy with the decision. Only thing that isn't ideal is that VW recommend changing the belts every four years. I paid about £400 for the cambelt and water pump to be replaced.

DTM is exactly the same engine as the GTI (2.0 TFSi) except with a mild factory remap giving 220hp. B7 A4's arent the most dynamic cars but they are built like tanks, far better than the current model IMHO. Quattro alone would make it more attractive to me but horses for courses.
