Sedative for dogs
Discussion
Any recommendations?
Planning a holiday which involves a 3-4 hour drive to the location.
Our dog hates any car travel, and will exhaust himself barking, howling etc for the entire duration of the trip!
I'm just looking for something that will calm him down for the duration of the journey.
Thanks

Generally don't recommend sedatives these days. Valerian can help also other natural products such as Kalmaid (had good results with this) and Zylkene which can be used in combination.
Valarian should be tried out to get the dose right to prevent excitability.
Valium is a possible but only under vets ok and can also have negative reaction by causing hyper behaviour instead of calming so needs test running first to get dose right.
ADAPTIL spray in the car also worth a go.
How is he confined in the car?
