I'm moving to a new house that has virgin media available.
Just wondering if you have use their TiVo box at £5 a month or if you can go get one on ebay or Amazon instead?

The boxes are Virgin's property, you are not allowed to sell them.

When you get the service, VM will replace the box if it is faulty, they will register the box they give you to your account, they wont work unless they are set up (by a member of staff), you can't just plug a box from a different house to a cable box on the wall in a house and expect it to work and you don't need to as VM loan you all that you need while you are a subscriber to their service.

The Tivo is very good, much faster than the old clunky V+ box IMHO. However it does have its faults! Virgin's service is very good, especially the BB.

You should be able to haggle a deal that includes Tivo, Virgin are keen to get everyone on Tivo as it offers better pay movie options etc.

Quidco are doing some great cash back Virgin deals. http://www.quidco.com/virgin-media/?hoid=27591

If you know anyone else on Virgin then get them to recommend you as they will get £50.
