Hello chaps, hopefully someone might be able to suggest where to start looking at an issue I'm having. I have a 95 car with door lock barrels aft of the door (not with key locks in them though) in the bodywork.

The problem is that the alarm functions correctly and it sounds like both sides engage the central locking however the drivers side barrel doesn't go 'limp' so if depressed the door opens. The passenger side is fine.

Any ideas welcomed.

I used to have a '95 Chimaera years ago but have a 2000 year one now. the principles are probably the same.

When the car is locked, a solenoid operates to place the release mechanism in such a state that operating the release button on the mirror (or pushing the chrome button on the wing in your situation) should fail to release the lock. If the button is not 'going limp' as you say, I suggest the locking solenoid on that side is not working.

Edit: You should be able to access them via a velcroed flap behind the seat.
