Will I have a chance to buy 991 GT3?

Hi,
A few days ago I tried to order 991 GT3 in UK as LHD export car.
Thought that after sending my configuration code to the first found on the Internet OPC they would contact me back with details on deposit transfer and delivery date. I have done it in the past with BMW so why would it differ with Porsche, right?
This is what I was expecting to happen. Please don't laugh at me as this was going to be my first Porsche. I was not aware how limited production this model is going to be.
Anyway, do I still have a chance to buy one? Are all GT3s sold out for the entire model run? No more GT3s? The next generation of 911 is expected somewhere in 2018 so there should be some more builds of GT3?
Please help!

You probably can - on the prospective owners thread around 15% of customers have cancelled their slot or returned their car due to the engine debacle so there ought to be some build slots available. It really is a question for your dealer though - nobody on Pistonheads will have a better idea of whether a dealer will have a slot open for you. As for whether there will be any more - plenty of speculation but nobody really knows, though assuming that the 991RS comes it is likely that most if not all of the allocation will go to people who already have a letter of intent lodged with their dealers (I know people who did this before even the 991 Carrera was announced).

Strangely I know Richard chased up a couple of the cancelled build slots and after speaking to the dealer there were no slots available, and one dealer, Bristol I think, stated that he never had a slot, which I think seems really weird?
Do you think that the dealers have been instructed to reject enquiries in an attempt to bolster the prices of the inevitable collection of returned cars Porsche will be looking to move on once the engine issue has been addressed??

Maybe or maybe NOT. No one knows or if they do they aren't telling you.Components can have a manufacturing defect and fail and some are more catastrophic than others. Personally I see one that sends the car up in smoke as being fairly major and not something I would want to play Russian roulette with.
Ask a dragon what he would do in this situation and I think you will find the answer is - "I'm OUT"

What about the next years' production then? 2015,2016 or 2017? Does Porsche plan to keep building 991 GT3? Any official statement on that one?
Is there a way I can find out if any of UK dealer is going to have production allocation for LHD in the future?
What about RS version? Shall I beg a dealer to put me on the wish list? Something is totally wrong here If these cars are so desirable why they don't cost more? That would solve my problem very quickly. Porsche damn you!

There is a lot of contradictory speculation on the subject, but the safest assumption that you could make is that Porsche themselves will not have decided yet. The GT3 has always been a low profit model and as such it is not impossible that the VAG bean counters could kill it off. Especially if the recent debacles are considered to tarnish its position as a halo model in the range. It may be telling that the last two racing 911s do not feature GT3 in their nomenclature (the 911 RSR and 911 GT America are the latest models - the 911 GT3 Cup is the only 991 racer with GT3 in its name).SFO said:

The reason I want to order this car in UK is obviously the price. UK is 108k GBP and DE is 150kEUR same specification.
It may change any day but for now it is a big saving to get this car from UK.
