TVR S3 imobiliser nightmare:(

I bought my tvr s3 two years ago and soon after the immobiliser started playing up. I had a new one fitted last year and I have the same problem. Often it stops flashing,then it will cut in after driving and kill engine,which is making it impossible to use. It does work now and then. In fact when It's flashing I know I can unarm it and drive with no problem,until I need to park up and start the engine again. Someone told me it could be the distributor. Has anyone else had this problem or have any ideas how to fix it?

Take it back to whoever fitted it.


Did your adviser give any logic as to why it might be the distributor?

with my imobiliser(cobra) i disarm it and it stops flashing and always starts on first occasion

then sometimes later in that driving session when i want to restart the car after leaving it i disarm it and its not flashing when i turn the key it just clicks but if u hold the key in the start position within 2 to 5 seconds or so it fires up

maybe yours might do similar

The guy that recommended him has left the shop I went to. He did it for cash and I can't find his number

It was a tvr specialist that suggested the distributor,as he had one with a similar problem. I'm not sure it will help.
