Anyone here fitted a Pure H260?
Discussion
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but...
I like 'Pure', we've had one in the kitchen for kin years, so what is the sound quality of the car-version proper head-unit?
Ta.

Yep, just fitted one last week. First impressions are good-I fitted a decent magnetic aerial and the signal is good. I like the styling, not wanting a Christmas tree lighting up the dash so it's not too intrusive. Sound quality is pretty decent, menu is straightforward.
Downsides? When I stick the face back on it doesn't always power back up meaning I have to switch it back on-the buttons are small and the power one isn't backlit when its off so it takes a bit of fumbling.
Bluetooth seems OK but I can't access my phonebook(Android) just call lists.
Overall I'm pretty happy with it, it's only been a week though!

I have one of these as well. The sound quality is an improvement over the factory stereo I had before, but that's really not saying much! I too get the issue with it not automatically switching on when you put the front on, plus even though I have paired my phone with it, it doesn't automatically reconnect each time (although could that be a phone issue?)
I have left mine on the colour changing setting where it fades between all the colours, for the full Christmas tree effect.
I would say go for it, it's certainly getting better sound out of my speakers than the original stereo.
FYI I went for the interior aerial, it's stuck to the inside of the windscreen. I get occasional drop out but only for a second or so.

If its Bluetooth connectivity you're after (for phone calls) - which I presume it is as you're asking about the H260 instead of the H240 - then steer well clear of this head-unit. Don't get me wrong the DAB is brilliant and the EQ is quite versatile allowing good frequency variation across the spectrum.
However
On the phone front this head-unit has been ridiculously unreliable in use with my Samsung S2 (other users of iPhones and Nokias have also complained). Pure's response to my complaints have been very negative. Also, don't get fooled by the functions listed on the packaging. You cannot migrate your phonebook to this radio in spite of what it says on the box.
To date I have had to reset this radio four times (in as many weeks) to re-establish phone use functionality. In doing so you then lose all your tuned stations. Following each reset it fails again after 2 or 3 switches of the ignition.
Avoid like the plague and buy a Kenwood or Pioneer instead. They may cost an extra £50 or so but at least they do what they say on the tin - and you're not likely to drive into a tree whilst trying to accept an incoming call only to find the call accept button has failed - again.
