Help with my seat problem - oooerrr missus
Discussion
The passenger seat in my '92 Griff has a knackered 'cog' on the mechanism.
This is the bit that holds the seat in the up/down or anywhere in between positions.
Joospeed can't get it. Peninsula neither. I've tried Douglas valley breakers but they haven't got back to me yet despite numerous calls.
Has anyone got an old seat from either a Griff or a Chimaera in any condition which I can salvage this bit from, or know if the frame is/was manufactured for another car ?
Thanks very much
Ian

Hi Ian,
Try doing a search on the Griffith and Chimp Forums for seat upgrades. I am sure a few people have changed there seats to Cerbera and/or Tuscan ones. Prehaps this search will show who and you may be able to mail themm and see if they still have there old seats??
Have you tried TVR direct?

To expand on that, for anyone watching this thread ...
I took the missus and the Griff to look at a pair of Cerb seats at Douglas Valley. Many thanks to you guys for letting me trot down the road with a seat in my hands to plonk in the car and see the colour.
Bad news - about 3 shades too light grey for my interior.
Good news - JAMER gave me a contact in Nottingham who can recolour them. And he was working on a Ferrari's seats for a dealer when I called him so he must be pucker.
Done deal, bought and paid for and on their way.
Man with a can is booked for next Tuesday.
Fingers crossed it all comes out right, if it does it will look fantastic - and I'll owe you a beer James

I had this cog problem with my 92 Griff but on driver's side which was very embarassing to say the least when accelerating hard out of a corner.
Had the cogs sharpened and cleaned a couple of times
and this worked for a short while but then it would give way again.
Tried to find matching colour replacement but no go, so in exasperation I put the seat in it's most comfortable position for me and then spot welded the
cogs together! Problem solved.
I'm still on the look out for replacements though.
Dark blue leather if any one has them.

For anyone interested, Phase 1 of this - getting the seats recoloured - is shown in glorious technicolour in the pics I took during the operation today.
Phase 2 will be when they are fitted. I'll post more photos and details such as the difference in head and leg room when I get to that over the Christmas break.
