Noticed a few times today, under load and mainly in 4th gear. The car will hesitate for a split second, stutter a little and then take off as normal like a rat up a drainpipe. I can't imagine plugs, valve clearances are good, would the first port of call be leads or coils?

Thanks guys.

I'm guessing it is coil packs, mine had a hesitation around 2k rpm and replacing them fixed it.

The fact that it is at lower revs, most noticable in 4th you say, points me to a weak spark so look at the coid packs, if you have the software look at the ignition traces, if they are spiking all over the place it is the coil packs getting tired.

Think this is correct ^^^^

Misfire under load normally leads or coils.

Mine does this too. Leads were new last year so will get new coil packs after I've moved house.

Thanks for the replies. I notice the 4.2 coil packs are Citroen ZX, is there no alternative part for the 4.5?
