Mexico Blue Pantone??
Discussion
Hi all,
So...am planning on changing my Guards Red GT3 997 Gen 2 to Mexico blue. (3M Wrap) I love the colour and can get a deal on the wrap so going to go for it.
All I need is the pantone for the Mexico Blue which is used on other 997 GT3 Porkers. I can't find on the web anywhere. Any ideas or sites worth visiting?
Thanks

Agreed, the Porsche Code would be a good start. However I have called Porsche in Dubai and also in the UK regarding the "Porsche Colour Code" for the GT3 Gen 2 (2009-2011) and they can't find it. It was most certainly available as standard as there are loads out there in the colour. Once I have the Porsche Code I can order a "paint touch up" from porsche and match it to that..as 3M will need the Pantone to print from.

Have you tried this?
It's not intuitive, but start typing in Porsche in the 'Manufacturer' box, but then choose Porsche from the dynamic pulldown that appears.
Same with every pulldown - if you just type something in it doesn't always find it. Always choose from the pulldowns, but the 'colour name' field sometimes works if you type something in.
Then you'll have to spend some time finding your particular paint - MEXICOBLAU only appears for a 1974-75 timespan.
Have fun.

I think Cyruspower has listed the options here

The second RS is Mexico Blue where as I think the bottom 993 is Riviera Blue?
Riviera can look very different in real like v images btw so make sure you see the colour you like in the flesh.

Any ideas? Mexico Blue? Riviera Blue? Or special Order? Surely not that many people picked this as a special order colour. It was on the main Gt3 and the GT3 RS

1. That is Mexico Blue - which is a special order colour (PTS)Any ideas? Mexico Blue? Riviera Blue? Or special Order? Surely not that many people picked this as a special order colour. It was on the main Gt3 and the GT3 RS
2. Not many ordered it correct, but it can be ordered on GT3, GT3RS or RS4.0 or for that matter any Porsche.
3. Neither Mexico Blue or Riviera Blue are 'standard' colours. They are both PTS and you pay more and wait longer to get it.
4. Riviera Blue is LIGHTER than Mexico Blue.
I can't understand why in your earlier post you're saying 'there's loads out there in that colour' then the next saying 'surely not many ordered it'.
I will give Porsche a call here and see if the can order the colour match so I can match the pantone to it. Just want to wrap my car in it you see, but want to get the colour right.
(My note re the ordering is that there seem to be many out there with this coloring in 2010, so I was a little surprised that so many people went for the Mexico Blue as a special order. I think I had a typo in there, was meant to say "Surely not so many ordered it")
