What type of scam is this?

Ok chaps. I am getting a little confused with this and want to make sure i am safe before handing over any cash.
I live in Germany and am looking for a car (used) here.
Over this weekend i contacted four adverts from Mobile.de and autoscout24.de
All where average(ish) price and average(ish) miles. None where "too good to be true" offers.
Three where private (An Audi Allroad, BMW 320d tourer and a passat B6). ALL replied in poor German and then broken English "I am now back(!?) in the UK but send me the asking price and i will ship it too you.
Well you can imagine my reply to that!
The last is the one i am confused over.
Another Passat. But this one is a little cheaper. Its with a dealer in Germany who on mobile.de has about 15 cars advertised. All about €1000 under priced (on a €10k car and Italian imports are common here and they are cheaper).
The thing is none of his phone number are real. The website was registered earlier this month and each car has been photographed in different locations (Appear to be ripped from the web).
Obviously i am leaving well alone but i cant work out WHY do this? Tax scam???

Seems obvious to me. Sadly there are people out there who will do exactly that, then wonder why they do not get the item.

- Sadly I have no idea how German tax laws are operated or implemented so am unable to say if it could be a tax scam*

I'm sorry.
I merely commented that there are people who would send the money then wait in vain.

He knows the shipping ones were dodgy. He wasn't asking about those. He wanted to know how the last one was a scam.Another Passat. But this one is a little cheaper. The first scam is obvious in it's implementation, and the OP clearly already knows how it works.
