More Information on these BBS wheels?

I am helping an older work colleague clear out his garage and amongst the items he wants to sell are a set of wheels. He informs me these were "off an old friends British sports car" however he cannot remember what car it was. I haven't seen the wheels myself so asked him to take as much detail off them for me and also send a photograph.

From what I can gather these are 16" BBS RS Wheels and thats as far as my knowledge goes. I am also not sure whether these wheels are different widths as I haven't seen them in person.
I believe these wheels may be worth a decent amount of cash? Can anyone give me any more details on them and in particular what cars these wheels fit? I am assuming the "British Sports Car" he referred to was TVR or Lotus as the design doesn't look THAT old. I have told him that it may be worth having these wheels refurbished and sold "as new" rather than selling them as they are.
Any information and price guides would be most helpful.

They are 3 piece bbs rs.
The vw boys love these and redrill them or use adapters to fit. As offsets are high on these they are ideal.
Advertise them as they are on edition38.com and they will fly off the shelf. As to value, I am guessing but at least 500quid.

AFAIK any BBS wheels, especially 'splits' are worth a decent amount of money.
Even though they came as standard on a few different types of cars over the years, they're all pretty much 'aftermarket' wheels, if very high cost / cool ones. If you can work out the fitment and sizes you shouldn't have any problem selling them.

Yes, they are BBS RS. Quite common but nevertheless in demand in the right fitment.
If they are an usual fitment, such as the TVR suggested, i doubt they'll go for the same money, but still could pay for a little break!
Personally, i'd get them refurbed to a common fitment and keep hold of them. If your friend doesn't need the money, they will be an appreciating asset!

Hmm this was a popular fitment on 1990s mazdas like RX7 (I have seen factory fit in this size).But picking up on the "british " angle they also could be TVR (many) or Aston fitment but really mainly post 2000, so not that old . The PCD is as diverse as it comes what we could do with is the centrebore but then they could be aftermarket fitment and utilise rings . Nice wheels though, 16" is a bit small by modern standards but will give good ride comfort.

They're RSes (RS'? RS's?) (because RMs only came in VW fitment) and I'm fairly sure they came as standard on some of the limited edition Mk1 MX-5s.5x114.3 was also used by several TVRs as others have said.
Not wedge wheels they have exposed studs/bolts . Certainly look like griffith wheels

Well no. RS 246 were all 5 stud with a pcd of 114.3 with offset of ET43.Just lots of speculation so far.
Cerbera have same pcd, as do, T350, Sagaris, Tamora & Tuscan Speed 6.

The 246s are 5x114.3. Classic jap fitment.
The ones fitted to mk1 Eunos's aren't RSs, they're 1 piece wheels.
They aren't FD RX7 OEM. I'd put my bet on them being RWD 90s Japanese. I'm thinking mk3 Supra maybe. Possibly NSX. Too OTT for non GTR Skyline, and wrong offset for GTRs.

Is it a set of 4? I'd expect them to be paired with narrower for the front, a bit of googling sees them often up for sale with 245s, which are 8s.
