defective tail light...AM Vantage V8

Hi folks,

seeems like the right tail light has lost part of the driving back light. Interchanged witht the left and the fault
moved to the left side. Since these lights seem to be glued together not intended to be repaired and last for life
I am now thinking about taking the risk and have a look inside and see what causes the small trouble but expensive
to fix by buying a complete new tail light......
or any other ideas ?

I may have a spare red rear offside light for a Vantage around the house. I can check so at least you have that as a backstop if your investigations fail, assuming it is for a Vantage of course.
