Dear all,

Thanks a lot for your answer in my previous post: "Which Gear box for more than 700HP and more than 800Nm?"

Here are my conclusion, after more than 100 discussion around the world, from driver, from compagnies, from experts.

The G96-00/01 and G97-00 will never support a such power in race configuration, even for fast road use.

It is a question of time and whit what and how do you use it.

If you want to be quiet, Albins trans are indicated.

Meaning that, a such gearbox is expensive and have a lot of ratio and cant be sequential. So that is the question.

Synchromesh gearbox or sequential?

Some people fells their sequential is as smooth as their previous classic H pattern synchro gear box if they clutch, have the same Noise level, and i more reliable: as they have no synchro ring, the gear are larger so stronger).

Any return of experience please, with only fact you lived before: noisy, sequential in traffic, gearbux rebuilt... Thanks for this survey and "special thanks to Jonny".

F.C.

Using a dog box with straight cut gears will require the use of ear plugs, also not pleasant in town, if you are not very "sympathetic" then such a box will need regular servicing/re-builds.
