Advice in pursuing service history

Regards all - I would really welcome some advice on the best means to pursue some detail on my cars service history.

I have just acquired a 996 without the service book and I wondered if I made contact with an OPC if they could advise me of any history on the car or whether I could buy a blank service booklet and then puruse the duplicate stamps if the servicing had been completed at an OPC.

Think this has been covered before, contact your nearest OPC and request a replacement service book, tracking down history depends on the OPC(s) it was serviced at. I was once missing a couple of service receipts, had the book but not the receipts. Friendly OPC obliged with replacement invoices and verified missing stamp by adding it in, they did off course "tear off" the old customer details on the invoice for "data protection" reasons.

Ah, well you do have the service history then, just not the stamped book.

I was looking at a 993 recently. I phoned around all the dealers that had a stamp in the book - five dealers, 14 stamps. All were happy to confirm the details.

Yes probably being picky but it's often the little things that seem to matter

Strangely it's the early years of the car that are missing so the search will continue
