A friend of mine has asked me to photograph some jewellery.

What's the best method to get good results and what equipment would you recommend?

Any sample shots would be appreciate to give me something to aim for.

Is it polished metal & gem stones / glass? Going to be all about the lighting and reflections...

Some tips on here - http://www.tabletopstudio.com/documents/jewelry_ph...

That's a good site for info. I did some jewellery photography for my C&G here is my set on Flickr

I bought some black perspex from ebay to go underneath the bracelets and necklaces. For the earrings I made up a stand with a length of wood a cheap shelf bracket screwed to each end with some black thread between them and then hung the earrings on the the thread.

There are also some shots I did a few with some set dressing (borrowed from the girlfriend)
