Ok, I noticed the passanger manifold had a crack on No.1
While I was in the area and had the water rails off (and gearbox etc) I decided to remove it to make good a repair then DIY paint a thermal barrier (Techline from tweeks)
Seen as the passenger side was off i thought it rude not to do the drivers side. Off it came without removing any mount! (Yes the gearbox & flywheel were gone)
Lucky as I noticed a small crack in the junction of the middle two primarys. Plus the silicone was blown out underneath on the drivers side and the odd one on the passanger side.
ACT gasgets on order.
The interesting bit for me was the combustion colour of the ports?
Am I looking for airleaks now or valve clearances?
Passanger N/S

Drivers O/S

Any views?

Craig, in the top pic you look like you have 2 rich in the middle? And one in the bottom pic?
Could be valve clearances, misfire or injectors I think. If you had an air leak you'd expect the EML to come on from time to time and all cylinders on that bank would go rich as the oxygen sensors detect the excess oxygen and tell the ECU to enrichen to compensate.
