XKR test drive - what to check for
Discussion
Hi,
new to Jaguar, but put down a deposit on a used XKR (2010 on a 10 plate) which Im taking for a test drive this week. Checked through the forums and there doesn't appear to be too much to check for in terms of gremlins, but just wondered if there were any specific issues I should check for? Car is white with black alloys, ~19k mls.

Buy a Jaguar approved car if possible - the warranty is brilliantly comprehensive. I've had volumetric alarm sensor problems - common issue but replaced under warranty. Parking sensor problems - again common problem and replaced under warranty but they are still rubbish. new to Jaguar, but put down a deposit on a used XKR (2010 on a 10 plate) which Im taking for a test drive this week. Most of the mechanicals are very robust. I'd concentrate on checking everything electrical if I were you. Check all the seat functions, heating cooling etc, check mirrors are folding ok (common problem) and the other common problem is the touchscreen - they can intermittently freeze on the 'R' logo, turning off and on again usually sorts it but more serious failure of the screen isn't unheard of. The Jaguar approved warranty does cover the touchscreen though.
Hell man the car is virtually new. 10 reg with 19,000 miles on the clock. It's only just out of manufactures
warranty so any niggles should surely be attended to by now. Double check the mileage and make sure the service book reads right. Don't overlook the state of the tyres all round, this could be useful in agreeing a price.
Mine is a 60 plate with 18000 in Salsa, speed and black pack, not for sale.!!!

Thanks for the replies all. It's an appoved used from Stratstone in Manchester so should be fine...............but you never know. Just had 4 new tyres all around however one of the alloys needs a refurb as the lip is chipped.
Thanks for the heads up on the electrics, although used to have a Maserati so should be better! Colour is Polaris white with 20'' Kasuga alloys. Driving tomorrow so hope all goes well.
