Hi. Currently I run a cable from laptop VGA to tv VGA socket and it's been great.

However, tv now has a nice line down it, so I've been looking at new ones and they don't have VGA ports anymore, but laptop doesn't have an hdmi port either, so I'm abit stuck.

Does anyone know a soluton?

You need something like this http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/vga-to-hdmi-converter-wi... . There are cheaper options on Ebay such as converter cables, you need to be careful of these as they assume that it is possible to output a digital signal out of the VGA port.

What laptop do you have any what TV are you looking at? Wireless mirroring may be an option.

It's just an old big standard laptop for.
I get football picture onto tv with a VGA but tv has a green line down it now and newer ones don't have a VGA port

What make and model is your laptop?

You have lots of options,

Its perhaps worth looking at a something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/7dayshop-Nano-Digital-Medi...

Other options are chromecast, miracast, a raspberry pi with xbmc.
