Notice issue..

Evening all,

Advice time please... So I am currently working a 3 month notice period, I have new job confirmed and contract signed, they would like me start as soon as possible but understand I may have to work all 3 months.. Currently am approaching 2 months of this notice period and have on 3 occasions tried to negotiate an early release with no success.

Given that my replacement has already started and there is no job hand over required from myself, does this seem unreasonable not to let me go.? The last thing I want to do is burn bridges however my future and new career is now with my new employer. Is it time to just walk..

Difficult to just walk - especially as it is a short time to go and your new employer sound like they are reluctantly wait it out.

I would have a chat with your manager and find out what the issue is, usually it is a case of precedent, if you get to leave quickly it encourages others.....
