Access to behind the dash
Discussion
I have had a problem withy my alarm and now need to access the alarm control box which i am told id behind the dash. I cant find my 'Bible' as all books are in boxes (following house move). Could anyone tell me how to get into tbe behind the dash area and is this where they put the laserline control box?

There are 2 nut/bolts accessable from the passenger footwell and another 1 from the drivers footweel. The dash is a clamshell. Be warned - you may cut you hands on self tappers and it helps if you are small!
The alarm section is on the passenger side. We had to replace the alarm relay box earlier this year.

Cant find any of the nuts/bolts, it is a 94 car if that helps, and im a complete novice so need very detailed instructions
drivers side. erm. good luck. Pull out plastic air vent which is just pressed in place. Push the hose that comes up to the vent back into the car to get access. squeeze small hand into hole and feel directly upwards to find bolt. Good luck trying to get a socket on it...
On the passenger side I had 2 bolts (93 car). Unscrew little leather pouch thingy and open up hatch in the underside of the dash. One bolt almost directly above hatch but maybe slightly "back" towards the seat when you put your hand in there. Other bolt about 10 inches forward of that.
They are not easy to find and you will end up with bits of fibreglass all over your hand. Its a job I have had to do twice now and its still not easy finding the bolts. a case of reaching around underneath to locate them.

The top of the dash is secured by three studs which are glued to the dash top. To get to the alarm you may get away with just doing the near side. The position of the two near side studs and the alarm are shown in photo. Spanner size 10mm. Sorry Shnozz ![]()
no worries dude. Although I have to say at this point, mine are not positionned in the same place as that! mine is a 93...
The one to the left is more central, the one nearer the centre (but still on the passenger side) is more towards the door...
odd
