quick question

My humblest apologies for asking such a daft question but it has been bugging me for some time and I can’t work out what no doubt is going to be a simple answer.
Can someone tell me why topics in ‘’my stuff’’ are sometimes highlighted in dark grey? I understand light grey = read and dark blue = new reply but dark grey?
