A thread has recently started on the Chimaera forum reference rear light conversions. I was out with Serby on Sunday who is currently having Afterburners fitted, I mentioned that I wanted to do something with my lights and that I liked the black Lexus style, to which I got a snigger.

Now I have pinched these photos (thanks Podie) to demonstrate, I know that Lexus lights are quite chav but if you look below...

I think they are the best looking light here

What do you think?

Modified Lexus Style lights (Plunkett's car - chrome surrounds painted matt black)

Lexus style lights

Late Chim lights (Factory fitted)

Zertec Afterburners (Four lamps)

Quad Conversions Afterburners (Three lamps)

I've also seen the standard style Fiesta lights in completely clear, completely smoked and blue smoked fitted to Chims / Cerbs as well…

Anyone managed to get the later (Mk5) Fiesta lights to fit…?

I was in 2 minds about these as well and then when i honestly thought about it I think it was change for changes sake. Then I followed Cerber450 and noticed his rears looked a bit meaner in just darker festa style ones so I darkened mine a few shades and really chuffed with the results.

been ummm'ing and arrr'ing over a rear light conversion for ages.

I think the lexis ones suck the big root. Look a tad on the naff side.

I also think the best looking are the later tvr factory rear light cluster. Really excellent.

However, i'm guessing a factory face lift set are gonna be pricey... does anyone have any ideas as to cost?

Regards,

N

Original lights every time, both versions look good but personally prefer the later lights.

But if your stuck for ideas you could always get down to www.maxpowerlive.com.

Thanks Corin, I thought they looked quite good too (I bought Plunklett's car) but now I know everyone hates them, I suppose I had better put the old Festa lights back in (unless anyone wants to swap for the 4 light after burners?)
