I've got to travel from the Midlands to Canterbury on Sunday evening. The time I leave isn't really that much of an issue but I don't want to be driving all night as I need to be up on Monday morning. I was just wondering what time the M25 will quiet down, as I haven't made this journey by car before. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers, Matt

M25 normally gets busy from mid afternoon on a Sunday until about 6 and can either be bumper to bumper or free flowing. That's the problem with the 25, it can go from great to awful in a very short space of time.

Cheers. If I hit the M25 at about 10 p.m. would it most likely be alright by then?

But don't be tempted to hoon through the roadworks which start west of J6 and extend just past J5 where it becomes the M26.
