Before I start, I must stress that this is just a concept at this stage. Nothing has been signed off, but it is the start of what might be a very long journey or, it could be quite speedy depending on how well it it is received.

A week or so ago I met with a few people to discuss the possibility of a one-off TV documentary covering what PH is all about. I won’t divulge the plot but it’s a great idea and would give a real insight into what we are about and would (should) show that we aren’t a bunch of car bores hehe

What I need to move forward is this….

I want to find a few PH characters, and by that I don’t mean you have to be ‘odd’ but it would be good if you had a story to tell. You could be

A London-living supercar owner where the car is an essential part of your lifestyle
A classic car owning fellow who loves nothing more than spending time in the garage, tinkering
A hardcore trackday enthusiast
A young enthusiast trying to own the best car you can on a budget
A committed (and perhaps multi-owning) motorcyclist
A club-racer
A multi-car owner
A serial buyer

We need to come and meet those who have something to talk about, something that will make people interested enough to watch and get a glimpse into your personality.

If that sounds like you, tell me on this thread or drop me a line. I’ll choose five or six that I think fit the bill and will contact you so your tale can become a part of our pitch.

Many thanks
Paul

Once again, this is concept stages only and may come to nothing!

No. I don't drink Red Bull, or have a bad temper either. I've never even owned a TVR.

I'm definitely a serial buyer (6 cars in 5 years) but they're all very boring:

Golf 4 1.4
Volvo S40 T4
Volvo S60 D5
BMW E61 530i
Renault Megane 1.9DCi (I have no idea what came over me)
Volvo V40 1.9d

The next car will be an Elise... but that's a good year away

Can you give me any pointers on how you do that and retain control over the concept?

Synchromesh? He'd be a good one, he has a driving and car trajectory worth sharing.

Surely it's a case of anyone who actually wants to appear on the telly isn't quite the sort of person that PH is about? biggrin

You don't qualify for this unless you own:

BMW m135i
BMW 335d with a map
A mx5
A shed that's either a Saab or a Volvo

I left full time work to take up a year long classic car restoration course at college and have owned, bought and sold probably 13 cars in the last 24 months, tinkering & fixing as I go.

PH enough? biggrin

Young enthusiast trying to own the best on a budget here :P

Knackered MX-5 that was more rust than car, and currently a Puma 1.7 in decent nick.

Even went for the most powerful first car I could insure at the time, a Rover 214 with a whopping 103bhp!

Rampant commercialism.

Whatever next? Garlick and Dan Trent release a pop song? Chris Harris on Celeb BB??

Given they can stretch Top Gear to an hour, and Salt Dreams and Guy Martin on Speed were several parts you'd think a PH themed show could run to several parts.

I got paid to attend a customer clinic about car related TV programmes about a decade ago. I think most of the suggestions had been done before.

But Salt Dreams, Guy Martin riding a motorbike on water and the Edris Elba programme showed a human angle even if the storyboarded nature of them was easy to spot in places.

I'm 23, have owned 9 Mx5's, which have took me to trackdays all over Europe, drove my Police liveried Lexus Ls400 with a picture of Chris Harris's face on it to LeMans and back. And my wardrobe is almost exclusively of PH forum related t-shirts.....

Don't know if this qualifies me for a place on your documentary or on a therapists couch! hehe

One episode has to be called 'Custard' and another 'Bird's'. The BiB episode?
