Snetterton 10th April
Discussion
Wasn't sure what the 10th was about perzactley so just checked the Snetts website and there are day and evening sessions on Thursday 10th.
Day session is £139, on track 0900-1700
Evening session is £69, on track 1730-2000
Noise limit static (day session) is 105, and evening session is 102. Beastie runs just over 104 at 4.5k rpm static so would need TD silencers for the evening session...
Organisers are Javelin, website here:

Dunno what to do
Staying with Snetts in April... (I live 5 minutes away from the circuit
)
There's then a novice evening on Wednesday 16th (I have friends going so will pop along for a butchers)
And... A general TD on Wednesday 23rd
Could be a busy month, there's Burghley on the 13th, which is the same day PHEA (East Anglia region) do the fish & chip run to Aldeburgh with some 80 odd cars starting from Thetford/Cambridge/Stowmarket... this includes a few TVR's, currently a Wedge, a Chim, and a Cerb

Chilli

Thanks for the heads up on that chilli. I would love to put my car round a track but haven't the balls to do it! Mainly the lack of airbags, side impact protection, no roll cage on a convertible and not wanting to break her, but then I suppose thats the same risk every time I venture on to our ever crowded roads.
Can I just ask you about your VR6. My mate had the Corrado VR6 and even coming from TVR's it was the best sounding engine I have ever heard. With reasonable head, manifold and exhaust work the noises those units make is incredible. So, is yours standard or noisy ass?

Funny you should ask that Can I just ask you about your VR6. My mate had the Corrado VR6 and even coming from TVR's it was the best sounding engine I have ever heard. With reasonable head, manifold and exhaust work the noises those units make is incredible. So, is yours standard or noisy ass?

I bought the car without seeing it, due to work circumstances I had very little time to go car hunting and as it wasn't major expenditure I took a flyer on it... The car had quite a few issues, which are all now sorted, and she drives beautifully.. It's been lowered (this was one of the numerous issues) and is fitted with 17" Fox wheels and rubber band tyres, and a shouty exhaust box/rear pipes
To be honest, it's a bit boy racer, but I've removed all the stickers and the bonnet bra and she's quite smart now..The engine note is superb, not too loud, but a real grumbly growl with a few pops and bangs... I often have the window down to hear it on the over run
Of course, it's nothing like beastie, in fact it takes a while of driving to appreciate just how nice it actually sounds.. These car's are a bit of a bargain if you can find a good one, cheap as chips, and plenty of grunt, although not the most economical of Golf's... It's a 2.8, whereas I believe the Corrado VR6 was a 2.9...Here's a piccie from the original ad, can't remember the make of the back exhaust system but you can see it clearly in the piccie..
