What you don't want to see as a passenger....

Done that! We were flying off on honeymoon too!
'Twas a Comet (cue ageist jokes) and the skip was a bit heavy on the choke at start-up so some fuel flooded out of the rear of the stbd engine. OH was petrified seeing the plane surrounded by fire engines as we were evacuated, but theymopped up sorted it out while we waited in the departure lounge and finally had an uneventful trip. Came back on a Laker Tristar!

I'm guessing this isn't the best thing to see
"If you look out the right hand window, you'll see yesterdays flight"

Crikey!"If you look out the right hand window, you'll see yesterdays flight"

On a lighter note, I regularly flew Birmingham to Aberdeen, an airport known to be a tad windy.
On approach the captain informed us that we were not landing from the south but the north. We duly trundled around in strong cross winds and the lady across the aisle from my became a tad agitated. As we flew over the perimeter the fire crews were out practicing on the mocked up training aircraft to the side of the runway. Hoses were out, blue lights flashing and foam was all over the apron.
The lady opposite shouted out "Oh my God, there' s been a terrible accident !"
The mocked up aircraft was clearly an old oil tanker with a dummy tail fin welded on. No wheels or windows.
I tried not to laugh.
