Hi,

Been trying to get some time to get through the raft of electrical issues that have stemmed from a dodgy service .

Currently I have an issue with my oil pressure (which I presume is electrical rather than anything else - but I never know) and with the blowers.

When I was taking a look at the blower switch (with the dash off), I noticed that one of the wires was burnt out. I therefore clipped the wire back and held the wire in place however there was arcing.

Anyone got any ideas where I should be looking next? I saw in another thread that there is a wee black box that is somehow related (It is apparent how they connect) and checked the pins on it which are fine.

Could these two issues be related?

Aidan, can I recommend that you get Steve Heath's book on the Chim/Griff?....aka "The Bible". Buy from the TVRCC.

Blackened/burnt wiring suggests high current draw. Cant remember where the blower motor is located on the Chimaera - but it's probably somewhere hard to get to - in true TVR fashion. The Bible will help you with this

I'd try getting some WD-40 in/onto the motor as it sounds as though it's seized/lazy. If you can locate the blower, a flick of the cooling fan blades may encourage it to start...then squirt the WD-40 to help free everything up.

If you are referring to the heater fan, not the supercharger, then it's a well known fault.

The heater control box is inside the dash, behind the speedo sort of area, and you will find one terminal on the connector plug burnt out. Simply bypass it. There are illustrated threads on here if you use the search.
