Let's See How Good PH Is - Kate Bush Tickets
Discussion
Now here's one that I will be very very impressed if PH can help. I've just failed getting any tickets whatsoever for Kate Bush. My OH is the biggest Kate Bush fan ever and it was meant to be her birthday present. I even tried buying us £425 hospitality tickets. So, the challenge is PH, how can I get her to one of the gigs. Just how wide is our reach? Over to you lot.

Why are the Telegraph supporting a site that is only benefitting touts and scammers? It's one thing to buy tickets to a show months in advance and then find that you are unable to attend nearer the date and so try and sell them on, but to be hosting people selling tickets at massive mark up on the day of release just seems wrong! As you may have gathered I spent a long time this morning trying to get tickets and failed!!
Ticketmaster.co.uk
...procedures have been put in place to ensure that tickets do not get sold on and fans do not pay a higher price...
.. tickets cannot be resold etc. The promoter can void the ticket...
Getmein a ticketmaster company
... Buy tickets, eg 825 each on Aug 30th. They take 10% I believe.
.. you may have to meet the seller of your tickets on the night...

Missed out help me......
Need one or two.....I qad there in 79....want to be there in 14.
Crazy but how can they be onsale within minutes at £800 plus to just make money. Thought it couldnt happen and to be able to resell at a pfofit. Pissed off.
Well I hope something is done about it.....I wont hold my breath though.
Please explain how 60, 000 tickets can sell in 15 minutes...explain how many callers, time to decide and pay ...how many operatives on the phones needed to do that in the real world?....
Ticket needed at normal price please.

Not that it's much consolation, but they didn't sell out in 15 mins as I only secured mine at 10:00, after 30 mins of trying to get tickets into my basket on the Eventim and TicketMaster sites. The ticket tout thing happens with every popular event. Although they could put procedures in place to prevent resale, they never really seem to take it THAT seriously.
Try ScarletMist website, I've often got tickets from there for face value. The gig is still months away, so don't despair just yet.
Being PH I'm surprised we haven't had the usual b
ks about supply and demand and if people are willing to pay it's perfectly okay and all you peasants should just work harder.
Did no one see that documentary about how this industry works? The companies with the folders full of credit cards ready to order as much as they can?

A friend managed to secure 4 @ £150 a piece. 3 in his family and 1 person ahead of me in the queue for the spare. If she doesn't take it, then it's mine.
I paid 75p for my ticket in April 79. A girl I knew was going with some mates and 1 of them couldn't make it so I got it on the day of the gig at the London palladium, second hand. It was a buyers market back then!!!!

Did it not say on the ticket site, that the purchaser of the tickets or ticket (4 max) will have to show photographical evidence it was them who made the purchase thus ensuring they cannot be sold on. So if they did sell them on, they would have to meet the people they sold them too, prior to entry on the night. I will give it a miss.

How are they going to do that then?I actually don't see a problem with tickets being resold and I've bought in that way in the past. But aside from whether it's right or wrong I can't see what anyone can do to prevent it anyway. The nearest they could get is some form of two factor authentication - having to produce both the ticket and something else like the credit card used to buy it, but that's full of problems.

The name of the lead booker will be printed on each ticket. The name cannot be changed once the booking has been made. The lead booker will be asked to present ID to gain entry into the venue. Failure to adhere the terms and conditions may result in the customer's order being void. There are no exceptions to this rule.If you are booking more than one ticket your guests must arrive at the concert at the same time as you. Failure to do so will result in the guests being turned away.Tickets cannot be resold or transferred under any circumstances. If the promoter reasonably believe this to be the case the barcode on the ticket will be voided, prohibiting entry to the concert.
Personally I hope they stick to it.

But do they? I've not really been to concerts, more sports events and I've never had to produce ID to those. But then getting 80,000 people to provide ID to get in puts a big delay on the process. The name of the lead booker will be printed on each ticket. ks mate"If you don't want to use Getmein or the like then just turn up and get one outside from a tout. I've never had a problem that way and they are generally cheaper than Getmein etc.

If so, its a little hypocritical that their own company, GETMEIN, are facilitating the resale of tickets!!
They should void all the tickets for these concerts sold via GETMEIN. They have the names of lead bookers of tickets Ticketmaster sold, the same names presumably registered on GETMEIN to resell them against their own rules!
I wonder if Kate knows
