McLaren 650S: Pic Of The Week

So the McLaren 650S launch event is going on at the moment and we're looking forward to bringing you the full story from it next week. To get yourself up to speed on the new 650hp Woking-built supercar you can read our previous story - and interview with McLaren's Chief Design Engineer Dan Parry-Williams - here. Suffice to say though, this is more than just a 12C with a P1 style nosejob.

In the meantime get your desktop ready with this lovely image of an Aurora Blue 650S coupe somewhere in Spain. After seeing it under photographic lights in the studio and the glare of flashbulbs at Geneva it's good to finally have it out in the wild. More on this next week...

I drove past an orange 650 spider yesterday in Zug, Switzerland, so assume that some have been delivered or dealers have them.

Saw three of these in convoy the other day coming from the Mclaren dealer in Hockley Heath - stunning IMHO (much better looking than the MP4)

I saw this blue one in the flesh last weekend as I was driving to Puerto Banus, it was heading in the opposite direction and looked fantastic coming at me head on, much more presence on the road than the standard 12C. An orange one then overtook me on the way back from Banus (heading towards Gibraltar) and didn't hang about - so they were certainly out in force! Great to see these cars on the road and good to see McLaren making a success of its road car business so soon after launch.

Actually the names of their cars are also crap but they look damn good.

On a P1, that is a great front end. But for some reason it doesn't work there. Is it too high or is there more bumper beneath the headlights on this than there is a P1? It just looks a little... weird.
