This is my car, 450 2000, and at some time has been resprayed. The original colour was Rosso Pearl which i believe is notorious for fading. The new colour is not dissimilar but is slightly more copper coloured. Tried local paint factors they could not get near to a match. Car was originally registered as JCM516.
Previous owner didn't know colour either. Any help would be appreciated.

Not long ago Racing Green had a TVR that was in original rosso pearl.
It had been garaged and covered most of it's life if I understood correctly.
They had however managed to refresh a few panels where the expected fading had actually occurred.
I suspect that only an owner of another rosso pearl car would have realised that it had to have been worked on, it was just a little too perfect smile

It seems they can now match the original, and it won't fade.
They may be able to help you with paint selection.
To me there were few colours as pretty as rosso pearl when it was new.

Rover Nightfire red was always popular when painting Rosso cars IIRC. You should be able to find a paint shop that can scan your paint and reproduce it.

It can be really difficult to get a match. I started my quest for a colour match pen just to blot out a few stone chips off the front. From the engine bay plate I have been told it is Iris blue, BMW Iris blue metallic and Porsche Iris Blue. I bought the Porsche paint pen and attended BMW and both blues are too dark. I then had the body scanned with the paint identifier and it came out with a Ferrari purple! Close but no cigar.
This is my 5th year of ownership and I still have no idea what colour it is. I sometimes wonder if the base paint is correct, but at some point a slightly purple metallic has been added which obviously changes the finished look from the original.
Good luck with your search, hope you get a match.
