Was any model of Pop fitted with suicide doors?

I think I can remember a Ford Pop with suicide doors when I was a youngster but I cannot be certain. Probably be a 1950's car but could be earlier but I think post WWII.

Further research suggest to me I was wrong and all the models had forward hinged doors. Obviously my memories are as unreliable a SWMBO suggests.

To the best of my recollection, none were fitted with suicide doors. My first car was a 1947 Ford 10 and that had conventional doors.

Others of that era certainly had them - e.g. Hillman Minx, looks very similar from some angles.

The 1932-37 Model Y (which was referred to as the Popular Ford in a stripped down spec to be sold at £100 - making it the cheapest 4-seater saloon ever sold in the UK) did indeed have suicide doors in both Tudor (2-door) and Fordor (4-door) guises.

You may well be correct but the Ford Popular model cars post WWII all had forward hinged doors and therefore were not suicide door as such. On a Ford Popular question concerning doors on the For Popular models post WWII these were always forward hinged and NOT suicide doors. I was surprised initially but this seems to be the case.

Absolutely correct - all the small upright Fords from mid 1937 onwards with the introduction of the 7Y and 7W models indeed had front hinged doors, as were the E40A/E49A Anglias and the 103E Popular that evolved the 7Y, and the E93A/E493A Prefect which evolved from the 7W. (See my profile pic.. )
