Don't think I've ever seen a white(cream) roof before.

Good to see then popping up like this..hopefully someone will rescue it.
I would be colouring/replacing the roof though. White isn't for me.

I've been thinking about this car and it could well be cost effective to save. From the information in the advert, it runs and has a reasonable and servisable chassis. The interior is complete and the car is in primer. Original color metallic blue, and the interior is complete but needs tlc. Ok, the roof is white but so what, blue and white go well. So, to put that in financial terms:-

Car.............................1k
Re spray to original color......1k
Interior tidy up.............0.25k
Chasis tidy up...............0.25k
Unexpected mechanical issues..0.5k

Total...........................3k

So, for 3k it could be possible to own a V8 Wedge in quite sharp condition???

What says you??? Assuming the car price remains low at 1k.

I've spent probably £3.5k on a car which actually looked pretty tidy, in comparison, and did actually 'drive'.

Much as I love to see them saved, I honestly think this is past the point of being financially viable as a resto.
An excellent parts car (in fact for a grand, if I had the space, I'd have it for exactly that), potential conversion to a race car etc.

This is one wedge which I actually wouldn't mind being reborn as a kit car.

Be interesting to see what it goes for in the end.

Surely that's a decision for the purchaser? Not everyone measures their involvement in a hobby by how much profit they can make from it.

Over on another thread someone admits to spending 6 hours polishing less than half his car. Will he add his labour charge to the bill when he comes to sell? Of course not. Maybe the White Elephant was 'past the point' as well? I bet that wasn't a thousand quid in PW's pocket. This car may well be someone else's Nelly.

Edited in case anyone thought I was being arsey biggrin

A red Wedge with a tan roof might work... but not cream/white.

I doubt if it makes any financial sense to restore any basket-case Wedge if you factor in DIY labour costs, the market value of good condition Wedges is too low for that to occur,

Owning a classic is not all about the money, these cars we own and drive are part of a motoring history and without people like us would be lost to scrappage schemes and breakers yards.

I hope someone saves it.
