Hi - wondered if anyone could help. Just had the rear valance replaced by Lamborghini (scratch on the original)- noticed the replacement factory part isn't profiled correctly against the upper bumper and that my original sat better in line with the bumper.

Been told by the dealer that my old valance could have been an after market add-on but it carries the lamborghini part number - anyone know of any similar issues ? Are aftermarket dealers normally in the habit of copying lamborghini part numbers ?

Look forward to any feedback - 3 pics attached - old valance part number, old vs new pics.

Thanks
Prashan

I've heard of Chinese manufacturers stamping parts with OEM numbers in other industries, so it wouldn't surprise me if it happens with automotive parts too,

The date on the part number would tie in with the manufacture date of your car so likely OEM....

Fit Defo better in first PIC, old valance I assume....

Maybe the new one is aftermarket..... Batman, you out there matey.... Are the fixing points mobile or have some play? (Given you have dismantled yours loads)

Thanks Mo...in checking the valance, the fixing points are fixed single holes, so no play.

But good spot on the date on the original piece....

There may be play in the fixing points on the bodywork.... Certainly is for the rear light cluster of a few mm

V10 bat will confirm, though he posts later or very early......

DOH refresh and I can now biggrin .

Bit odd that , is the tip of exhaust touching the panel ?

Might be a bit of adjustment ( shim ) etc to be had .

Or I could get my paint guy to repaint your original one ,could do it yellow even ,that's if you still have it ,wouldn't cost a load and could drive car while its done ?

Cheers

Hi - it looks like the dealer has just screwed the new part in, without considering alignment - the original part sat further out so that the exhaust pipes were contained inside the valance - as you can see with the replacement part, it is sitting too close inwards and as such flush against the exhaust and doesn't align at the ends against the bumper.

Thankfully, dealer still has the old part so will be taking the car back Friday for them to re-align - just an annoying thing, hassle factor, etc...now, re-painting it sounds an idea :-)

Hope you're well.

I had something similar after I found a lump of metal wedged through the one of the front radiator grilles on my LP560.

I bought the replacement part from Lambo London (that was a mission: the matte black part was surprisingly cheap; but the shiny version, that I realised I needed after I'd got the matte part home, was reassuringly expensive).

Anyway, I thought it would be the matter of a moment to swap the smashed piece with the new one. But it took me an age to get the replacement piece screwed in so that it looked correctly aligned. I found there was a tiny little ridge in the bumper shell that I had to hold the grille piece really tightly up against while I did up the screws, so as to get the grille to sit and look right.

Your front grill experience sounds remarkably similar.....dropping car off again for hopefully one last time today...I'm sure I'll see the 'flying Matt black' Aventador in for repair.....
