Spent an hour last night taking off the rear roof section to have the split screen replaced and discovered some very handy cubby boxes behind the seats, all neatly trimmed in carpet with velcro fasteners.

Do all Chimaera's have these, or is mine SPECIAL !

My 99 Chim certainly has them. They're just deep enough for a copy of The Good Pub Guide.

I have these also...... was very pleased to find them. I found them when I was drying the back carpets out which was before Thompson watersealing the roof.

yep they are on all of them.... that's the glovebox dont'ya'know.

EXACTLY what I use mine for...

although it's such a heavy book, it tends to pop out under extreme braking.

Always thought that elasticated pocket under the dash in the passengers footwell was the token storage in addition to the leather lined Lois' Vitton, lockable map pocket that is at the side of the dash, accessed by the key hole next to the electric roof switch, above the climate control, ABS, Traction Control and Coffee machine warning light cluster.....

I'm suprised when i read a thread like this....surely the salesperson/private seller who sold it to you should have pointed them out??? I know the salesman who sold me mine went over the car with a fine tooth comb when it came to showing me stuff.

I bought my car from a dealer but found these myself when adjusting the seats- there was (still is) a small fire extinguisher in the one behind the passenger seat.

I keep the log book and a spare serpentine belt in the other.

Hmm, like others I only found mine at a later date. In the event I've put the 6CD changer in at the back of the passenger seat - just a fit but it keeps it out of the boot where it may get in the way or be damaged. It's also hidden with the seat right back and accessible for changing discs from inside.

The chap I bought my car from had never seen them either whilst he had owned the car.. I pointed them out to him when I inspected it..

I'm not sure keeping the "log book" in there is a good idea! I presume you mean the owners manual, not the V5!!!

It is amazing how many new owners don't seem to get much of a brief on their cars - whats this button, where's the dimmer for the dash lights, how do you get into the car in an emergency etc. This one takes the biscuit though.

Where exactly did the dealer tell you to stow your baseball cap?
