Breakdown Cover Help

Hi All,
Been a member with the RAC for a year now, I paid £100 for everything (Roadside, Recovery, At Home, Onward Travel & European Cover). It should have been £150 with my NHS discount, but I luckily also got paid quidco cashback, so it came to £100 total.
Just received my renewal at £180 (cover has not been used), however, as i'm doing Silverstone WEC, Spa WEC, Le Mans, Le Mans Classic with a caravan, I thought I would just check their European terms and conditions before I go.
It turns out that as my car is over 11 years old (17 Year old Volvo 940!), I need to pay a £100 extra charge AND because i'm taking my caravan, it would be another £65 extra charge, PLUS the £180 renewal.
And it also says in the terms, that if the cost of recovering the car from Europe, costs more than the value of the car, you're up the creek without a paddle.
I've tried single trip cover with all the major breakdown companies, but that comes in at around £180 for my 2 week trip to Le Mans as well.
Been reading about ADAC, but with all the positive comments, there are lots of negatives too. Last time I tried to join, I got nowhere.
So are there any alternatives. Do I risk going without (car is mechanically sound, but sods law says if I have no breakdown cover, something will happen!)

Having read all the terms and conditions, the only bit that worries me is: "Fail to service and maintain the vehicle in line with manufacturer guidelines"
I have it serviced by a mobile mechanic annually and just keep the receipts for the parts. Not sure if this would suffice, but apart from that, it looks good

I certainly got a surprise, not a pleasant one mind! They wanted more to insure my banger of a Volvo than they did to insure my Honda S2000
Unfortunately, their online form is throwing up a load of errors too but i'll keep trying.
