Stop me before it's too late but I'll be buying a Canon EOS 300D SLR today.

I'm completely new to SLR photography and really want to get into it and this seems like the best choice.

I've priced matched the Camera at Jessops from Amazon's price of £599 plus I get an additional £100 off with the Canon cashback offer PLUS x2 free 256MB memory cards. One from Jessops and one from Canon.

I am getting a good deal and stop me if I'm getting the wrong camera. Answers by 12pm please!!!!!

NO, get a D70. They are a much better camera and feel more rugid. A few quid more but Quality never did come cheap.

Or a 20D - Even more quality etc . . . .

It may be well worth your time contact Luca Brazzi before you buy that camera.

Get it... and stop moaning. The 300D is a good choice of camera. I've got one and it served me well so far. The price seems to be good too.

He sold his 300D if that's what you're on about.

Too late! Its gone 12:00!

The D70 is Nikons answer to Canons 300D.
It has recieved very good reviews. Some argue that its a better camera. No one seems to argue back!

I would like a Canon DSLR because I have a Canon SLR and all the lenses will fit.

If you are starting fresh then your options are open, and there are lots of decisions to make.

Welcome to my world

Hello chaps.....

Sorry....big grin! I'm one proud owner of a EOS 300D. It took a bit of haggling to get Jessops to drop the price but £635 for the full EOS 300D kit with lens, UV lens filter and 256MB memory card isn't too bad don't you think?

Now i'm patiently charging my batter up here at work! (Can't wait to get home and for it to be light tomorrow!!!!)

You would have been prouder if you had bought a D70. Still, you can always sell it and get a D70

I hope you enjoy all the fun you can have with a DSLR. Waiting for the pics to be posted on here

Too expensive! But i'm still happy with the 300D. Plus, it is my first SLR so not bad for a complete novice.

Now I need a good photography book for beginners. Does anyone know of any out there that would be suitable?

Well done on your puprchase. Enjoy! You'll soon be wanting a bigger memory card, then a longer lens, then an external flash.......and then another camera, then studio lights......nightmare, but fun.

Put some piccies up as soon as you can.
