Uk income tax for non resident

Hi all

I am not UK resident but now own shares in a few UK private companies. I don't expect to see dividends for a few years.

Will my first UK income tax return be due when I first receive UK income or do I now have to file nil returns because I own a UK situs investment.

Not until you are entitled to dividend income and even then as a non-resident you will probably not have any UK liability.

I have several non-resident clients who have significant UK dividend income and escape UK income tax thereon.
