Car Storage Advice

Hi all,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I have to take my Lupo off the road for a while.

Does anyone have advice as to how to make life easier on say, the suspension and tyres, if the car is standing for a while ?

Should I do an oil change right before moving it into storage ?

What should I look out of concerning the brakes ? I know of the obvious surface rust on discs, but I'm more concerned about fluids, cylinders etc.

What about electrical systems ?

Looking after long-term stored cars is all new to me, so any help and advice is greatly appreciated - I am sure there's hundreds of different things I am not even thinking about considering about this, so fire away

Copper grease behind the wheels to stop them being seezed on should
You need to change them.

You could prop the car up in the air to avoid flat spots on tires,

Are you keeping it in a garage? If not get a cover as the sun can make tyre side walls crack.

Leave the handbreak off and I don't think there's much else you can do with brakes,

Oil change is a good idea to prevent sludge etc building up.

Put it on a trickle charger to stop any electical problems, failing thst start the car once a week?

Also a odd one put the wipers up in the air to prevent them perishing to the screens.

Oh and give it s good clean all over, and put a moisture absorber and some nth balls inside just in case of damp etc

It's going to live in an underground car park private parking spot, and it'll be covered to maximise protection.

Starting once a week is no problem, and the rest of the stuff is rather easily doable as well.
