Employment contract - Notice Period
Discussion
Sister is after some advice after starting a new role last week. She has yet to sign her contract and isn't due to see HR until this Thursday.
It's the standard 3 month probation, but also states that up until 2 years service the employee has to give one months notice. The problem is that the next sentence says that the employer only has to give one weeks notice!
Hardly balanced. She did speak to HR last week but only briefly pointing it out and they said they could discuss it in more detail when the meet properly on Thursday.
Your thoughts? Personally I've never seen this before, instead notice is always balanced on both sides.
